Firebrand opposition politician and National Unity Platform party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has appointed his deputy for Eastern region also Manjiya County MP John Baptist Nambeshe as acting President.
Hon. John Baptist Nambeshe who is also a commissioner of parliament replaces Dr. Lina Zedriga, the party’s Deputy President for Northern Uganda who has also been serving as the acting party president for the last four months.
Taking to his social Media Pages, Bobi Wine announced the changes applauding Zedriga for keeping the revolution alive and also steering the party well.
Nambeshe’s appointment as acting president comes at a time when the party is at the tail end of it’s plans to join the Inter Party Organization for Dialogue (IPOD) just to be able to tap into government funding towards political parties after government made it mandatory for all political parties with representation in government to be part of IPOD.
For four months, Dr. Lina Zedriga Waru has been acting President of our Party. During this period, she has steered the party well and kept the revolution alive. We’re all very grateful for her dedication and service.
