BUSIA DISTRICT |URN: The councilors of Busia district have resolved to hire the service commission from Namayingo district local government to help begin the process of recruiting over 80 civil servants.
It’s reported that the term of most of the members of Busia services commission expired last year in the third quarter that the previous council could not constitute a new one in time.
The resolution has been made in first council for the newly elected councillors held on Friday at the Busia district headquarters in the Council hall.
The councilors cited need for the district not to lose a 1 billion wage budget disbursed to the district by the government to help recruit teachers and medics.
John Charles Namayindi, the Busia district LCV chairman said that they want to ensure that they write to public service commission to allow them hire the service commission that they have resolved to come and help them.
He he has already contacted his Namayingo district counterpart, L.C.V chairman Ronald Sanya, who assured him that they have fully constituted commission.
Namayindi said he has been able to come up with the executive committee members apart from one, Stanley Joseph Wejuli, whom councilors rejected.
Henry Wakodo, the district councilor representing PWDs also newly elected chairperson production Committee said that they resolved due to the urgency and not to allow the money to go back to centralgovernment.
But member Fred Bwire Wanyama, fears that the plans may cause losses.
Stephen Mayende Awangale also, as councilor for Bulumbi subcounty, wants the district to constitute a service commission instead of sourcing from neighbours.
Abed Amis, a resident expressed excitement with the council decision and said that it will help the district to move.
