After hours of speculation, Tooro Kingdom confirmed the death of King Oyo Rukidi Kabamba Iguru IV who died on Thursday 10pm from a hospital in the United States where he had been taken for medication.
The fallen King died at the age of 34 years having been born on 16th April 1992 to His Royal Majesty King Patrick David Mathew Rwamuhokya Kaboyo Olimi III and Queen Bestie Kemigisha and he took the reigns of the Tooro Kingdom throne on 12th September 1995 following the death of his father a month before.
While announcing the demise of the King, the Kingdom Prime Minister Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki urged the people of Toro to remain united, calm and prayerful during the difficult time of mourning.
Premier Armstrong however assured continuity of the Kingship and confirmed that the fallen King has left behind a Prince as his heir whose identity will be formally revealed at the appropriate time in accordance with the customs and traditions of the Tooro Kingdom.
As the subjects of Tooro Kingdom mourn the death of their King at just 34 years, the also await to see the heir he has left behind who will take over the throne.
The fallen King ascended to the throne at just 3 years in 1995 and became the world’s youngest monarch at the time.
