In the news this morning, another royal son of Tooro Kingdom has been announced dead after battling Throat cancer for a long time in different hospitals.
Prince David Kijjanangoma, the elder brother of Prince Edward Kijjanangoma who has was voted recently to become the next Tooro King by the Babiito clan has lost the battle to throat cancer at the Mulago cancer institute.
His deaths comes a few days after the burial of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV who also succumbed to cancer from Dallas in the United States.
David Kijjanangoma’s name surfaced in the Tooro circles after the death of Oyo as a possible successor to the throne but he has reportedly very ill battling the killer disease at Mulago cancer institute.
He is the Prince who in 2015 threatened Oyo’s throne when he announced that he had overthrown the late King whom he accused of abdicating his kingly duties and spending a lot of time in Kampala and abroad. He also at that time accused the Queen Mother Best Kemigisa of interference in the administration of the Kingdom.
Prince Edward Kijjanangoma a former UBC journalist was voted by the Babito clan chaired by Omusuuga Charles Kamurasi but his ascendance to the throne faces several hiccups including government which has indicated that he won’t be gazetted until the chaos of succession is resolved.
JUST IN: Tooro Prince David Kiijanangoma Araali has passed away at the Mulago Cancer Institute, where he had been receiving treatment.
Prince David was an elder brother to the newly announced King Edward Kiijanangoma.
