After months of uncertainty in the judiciary on who will be named Deputy Chief Justice, president Museveni has appointed legal veteran Justice Moses Kazibwe Kawumi.
Justice Moses Kazibwe Kawumi brings his vast legal experience to the judiciary. The position fell vacant after the then Deputy Chief Justice Dr. Flavia Zeija was elevated to Chief Justice replacing Justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo who had retired early this year.
The president has also appointed Her Worship Agnes Alum as the new Chief Registrar.
The statement released by the Presidential Press Unit also reveals that the name of the Deputy Chief Justice has been forwarded to the yet to be constituted Parliament’s Appointments Committee for vetting.
